i think its a good choice. no player is more VALUABLE to his team.

lol chirs paul is way more valuable to his team then kobe...and paul had a better year. Everybody just wanted Kobe to have it....the nba cant let the ''best'' player in the NBA never get an MVP...paul was way more deserving
Paul was not as deserving no matter how slight the advantage may have been for Kobe.
Kobe had a worse supporting cast when you actually look at games played.
Kobe is a better player.
Kobe elevates his game against good teams. Chris Paul does not.
Kobe Bryant plays great defense and is recognized league wide as a great defender. Chris Paul plays less than average defense at best.
Kobe Bryant won more games including a head to head match-up late in the season in which he clearly outplayed Paul to win the West.
This was just another case of people not wanting to reward "that rapist prick in L.A."
If Paul is honestly so much more valuable to his team, why isn't he unanimously ahead of Bryant in the GM polls? Why do GMs constantly answer Duncan, Bryant, or James if they had to start a team to win a ring this year(Duncan usually gets one to two votes so I'm sure you can figure out there is homerism involved there)? Just because a guy does not have a good back-up does not make him more valuable(Steve Nash in PHX). Just because someone changed addresses and is now winning doesn't make him more valuable(KG). Just because someone has a more media friendly storyline to their season(Chris Paul) does not make him more valuable than a player who is simply better than he is.

Wrong. Both were deserving. Paul has his entire career to win some MVPs, this one was for Kobe... Hornets lost #1 seed in west to Lakers and lost head to head late in the season. Kobe deserves it and he should already have won the MVP before this year.
