I believe the Pats are gonna draft 1 of 4 people with their first pick. Vernon Gholsten, Keith Rivers, Domonique Rodgers-Cromartie, or Leodis McKelvin. Really any of these picks would be great, and I cant seem to make up my mind which is the best pick. As far as the LB and De/LB go, you will get the same, a great versatile pass rusher, but I think Rivers would be a better guy to step up into the leadership role once its time. Corners, I look at it this way, McKelvin seems to be the best all around Corner in the draft, with his only downfall being his hands. He has GREAT quickness, man coverage and is pretty good with Zone. Cromartie has just about as good coverage skills as McKelvin but with better hands. While Cromartie is a little slower, he has a bit of a size advantage and seems to me, to be a bit more of a playmaker that the Patriots need in their secondary. The biggest knock on him is that he played a Tenn St., facing second tier competition, but he showed at the senior bowl( which McKelvin missed) and the 4 games he played agaisnt top tier opponents last year that he could man up to whoever he needed to.that said, I think the Pats should go with one of the LBs/DE with their first pick and grab a CB in the 2nd/3rd round because the depth at CB this year is incredible.

Apparently the coaches at the coaches meeting were stunned by the Lions' CB that the Pats picked up and were asking the HC of the Lions why he let him go if he thought so highly of him, and Im not really sure of the other CB they grabbed, but like I said, I think with the Depth there is a CB this year and the lack there of with LBs, grabbing Rivers/Gholsten first round and taking a CB in the second round seems to be the best route.

I think they will definitely take Gholston if he's still there.

Gholston=BEAST...he could play DE or OLB that's why the Pats and love him so much for the 3-4. Any of the first 6 teams could take him except possibly Atlanta and Oakland.
he had a great combine and pro day ... but he didn't do all that great against so-so comp in college. it's a little early for the "lock down" tag ...
Cromartie won the MVP for the Senior Bowl, and analysts have said that when he played high competition, his play ranged from good to stellar.

Cromartie is definitely going to be nasty, it just runs in the family. Look at how many cousins get in and run a sport (Vince Carter and T-mac). I think Ghoston is garbage. OSU LB's are always over rated. Keith Rivers is the best LB in draft, Cromartie is best athlete on the D side, I would take Cromartie just because if you do not pick him up, you have to try and throw against him which could suck.
Gholston is a lock at 7 if he is still on the board. It's unlikely he will be there, if he isn't Pats will probably trade down into the teens and stock pile more picks. I don't see us using a first round pick, especially top 10 a CB. Belichick does not value the CB position. They are basically interchangeable in the system. Earthwind Moreland anybody?

AJ Hawk and Mike Vrabel were awful
