getting a 40gb ps3 but i think that 400 dollars is to much for one....do you suggest me getting one even though thats a bit pricey or should i just wait till they drop prices again?

I'd suggest not getting the 40g because it's not backwards compatible with PS2 games. The only thing I use my PS3 for, at this point, is Blu-Ray. Which, IMO, is a good enough reason to buy it.

I recently bought a PS3 40GB about 2 weeks ago and love it. I will most likely never return back to the X-box 360.

It's a great machine. The ONLY reason I play the 360 is because that's where the competition is at. If more people were on the PS3 I'd happily trash my 360. Not because I'm a Sony fanboy or anything like that. But because that any product with a failure rate as high as the 360 (RROD. I'm on my 3rd since the original launch date.) really shouldn't be supported. I kind of feel bad about playing the 360 but oh well. Hopefully everyone gets with the PS3 here shortly.

well....my 360 hasnt failed....and i got it back in sept.

and know dudes who have had it longer n no problems....

and even then....its a free repair...plus the towel trick usually does the trick....
and the games...online play....competition...r all better than ps3...

ps3 > 360 in dvds and graphic output...other than that i dont see anything great with the ps3...

and i had a ps3 also and it collected dust like uh mf

I had the PS3 and gladly sold it for less than half of what I paid for it after playing on it. 360 > PS3 in terms of gameplay. I got the 360 Elite, so I can get 1080p regardless. May not be BlueRay, but 1080p is 1080p. I haven't had the freezing or lock up issues like I did with my ps3. I cant believe I waited so long to get one
