I have to make a website for my uncles Electrical Company. I just got him a domain name but I dont know where to start. HTML doesnt seem to hard but I dont know where to go 1st. I know someone on here could help me. The website doesn't have to look great or anything.. the main reason he bought it was to have his company name on his email so it looks more professional.
Honestly, the best way for you to do this is to download a copy of dreamweaver. Once you do that google you some free website templates. It's a matter of filling in space at that point, save for a graphic header and/or logo.
I could help you, but no offense bro it'd be taking money out of my pocket. This is the best way to go. Dreamweaver, templates.. open the template in dreamweaver and change the **** around to your liking. It's easy too, cause all you have to do is delete the main body section and change it to get a different page. Such as going from "about us" to "contact us"
im not finished, but here is what I have so far [Only registered users can see links. ]
any1 have any ideas on what else I can do to the page that would make it look better?
The banner and the logo need to be fixed. The banner is fuzzy and the logo needs to be cleaned up. Try NetObjects Fusion for website building. IMO it's the best option for people who don't know HTML. You can easily incorporate e-commerce tools, css, flash, video, and audio. The features are robust and require ZERO coding skill.
and kill bums, is Net Objects Fusion alot better then Dreamweaver?
Yes and no. Dreamweaver is excellent if you know HTML. If not then it can be an incredibly frustrating program. I like Fusion because you can create professional looking, and I mean PROFESSIONAL (not cookie cutter crap) looking websites in a matter of hours with NO coding skill. With Fusion you can drag-and-drop pretty much anything, including video and animation, and it does all the work for you. I also like the fact that you can quickly integrate e-commerce tools.
LiteZout the site you made is ok but pretty basic and could get fixed up some more. KillBums kind of put you in the right direction I think. My one other suggest is to maybe change that scroll box of clients and stuff to something else.
