6 days b4 players bowl my 360 refuses to read discs and makes a weird noise whenever i out one in.. doesnt scratch it just sounds like it cant get the disc to spin...
(the disc doesnt spin when i put it in and it says unplayable disc to whatever i put in)
Time to call Microsoft. I had this same problem last week, then the RROD happened after popping COD4 back in. You should get a refurbished system most likely within 2 weeks
i got this problem before (also had my gpu melt down) but i think the xbox doens't know the door is closed if you open the cd case and try to manually rotate the wheel that has a rubber band and a gear the way to spins to open it might fix it did for me. also its a cheap fix that wont void your warrenty dont force it though if somethin breaks you'll be dicked.

any help? ideas? suggestions?
It’s a rap, get a PS3 you want have those technical malfunctioning issues.
instead of waiting months to get it back like people do.... you can easly shell out 40 dollars and send it to those sites that do different cases and etc like this.
Something wrong with either your DVD drive laser or your DVD spinning motor...If you are willing to open up your Xbox 360 and Void you warranty, well actually it can be opened without voiding the warranty, it is easily done, and if you are willing to open up the DVD drive and get down and dirty...it could possibly be fixed by you.
But if you don't feel comfortable doing that...send it away to MS or...illegally, go to Wal-Mart, buy a new Xbox 360. Then, you can put your defective xbox 360 in the box and return it for a refund, saying that is was ****ed....not morally correct if not illegal.

Nice idea, but I'm pretty sure that the stores scan the serial number of the unit to make sure it matches up. There should be a cutout in the box that exposes the serial number on the unit.
you can swap the serial number stickers. You know the sticker on teh back of the 360 that is next to the ethernet port? That sticker with the bar code and ****? rip it off and change em.
Use a hair dryer to heat up the sticker though before taking it off. Makes the sticker come off a lot easier, and it will prevent the sticker from ripping.
