So here's yet another set of routes you can add you can add to your Offense and destroy the blitz.
The first play is in every book I've played with so Im sure it is in yours. It is called "X Option" You can find this play in SB Big, I Form Norm, Split Backs Pro, Shotty 2 Back, Shotty 4WR etc etc.
The route will almost always be the designed go-to route of the play so it should be orange in the playcalling screen and will stick out immediately. The great thing about this route is that it's unbumpable. Thats right, they're back on NG!!
Now I almost exclusively use this route as my first read, however I only go to it if the defense is using the 3DL glitch or if they are bringing a nano. Why you ask? Because I don't want the D to know that I'm going to go to that route every play, therefore letting them sit on it. Here's an example of a play that I use the route to kill the D. Call "X Option" out of I Form Normal with the dual HB package. Now streak the X receiver (the X button receiver for 360). That is the only change I make to this play. I now have a streak, the TE is doing a post route over the middle to occupy the safetys, I have the unbump to my B button receiver and both of my backs in the backfield are hitting the flats.
Snap the ball and look at the LBs. Are they coming at you? Hit the unbump with a high bullet. Are they dropping into coverage? Then you make ur reads. First look to the flats, now the unbump, then the streak and finally the post.
Now the next route I'm gonna show you is a route that gets NASTY seperation from the DB covering your receiver. This route also is in almost every book I have looked at. Mostly I find it Shotgun 4WR and the play is usually called ____ cross. For example in the Pitts book it is called "Steeler Cross" in the Balanced book it is called "FL Cross" in the ATL book it is called FL Cross, and in the NE book it is called Patriot Cross.
The route I want you guys to focus on is being run by the A button receiver, the inside receiver on the right side of the play. Now at first glance it looks like a normal 10 yard in. However the litlle hitch at the beginning of the route is what makes it so special. It causes the DB to bite overdramatically. That right there gets ur WR about 3 yards of seperation, and then also the WR continues his in route, so the fatser the receiver is will determine how much "bonus seperation" you will get.
Finally I have one more tactic to use in conjunction with this route to get even MORE seperation, and that is motion. I will put the A receiver in motion and snap the ball right after he passes the LT. Not only will motion tell you if the D is in zone or man (zone if he slides with you and man if he runs with you) but also it will make the DB already be one step behind.
Here is a play i use with this route. Call Steeler Cross out of Shotgun 4WR. Streak both of the Outside receivers, "Inside slant" the inside receiver f the left side of the LOS, keep the halfback in to block and leave the money route as it is. Send the A receiver in motion and snap it when he passes the LT. Now make your reads. The money should be open, hit it if u want. Next look to the streaks for the Jetpack/Rocket and finally your last read is the slant.
used them in my franchise (on all madden level 4 minute qs) and my pass offense went from maybe 100 yards a game to like 380 in 1 game with the lidowns and i basically used those plays so thanks for sharin cuz it helped me tons
that shake route is nice. With the pick 6's this year I woulda never thought it would work. I don't understand why Pitt isn't the most used PB out there, all its missing is that Trio set. Maybe next year we'll be able to custom our own playbooks. Yea, maybe...
