Re: Most overrated player in the NFL......

more like most hated on player lol its funny cuz before I opened the thread, I thought in my head that this would probably be about Bush....Say hello to Michael Vick no. 2....A unique player who gets crowned the greatest before he achieves it, but also gets hated on by many because he isnt the prototype...A player who gets hated on so hard by all the haters who dont like the hype he gets that instead of being overrated b/c of fan support, he is actually extremely underrated because of masses of haters who give him no credit.

were talking about a dude who has dominated his previous levels of competition, won the heismann, national championship, done it all....and were also talking about a guy who has all the talent in the world that came into the NFL last year and had a strong rookie year.

So yes, naturally, people are hyping him. Of course people are expecting him to break out and become a superstar. And why shouldnt we expect that? Hes got the talent, hes got the work ethic, he looked real good last year, showed that his versatility and explosiveness most certainly does translate to the NFL, and he has dominated previous levels of competition so people are expecting him to do the same.

And as far as what youre saying about him.....He is much more than a decent receiver, besides Marshall Faulk, I dont know what HB weve ever seen with better receiving skills than him, and when all is said and done, I expect Reggie will be known as the best receiving back ever. He woulda been a first rounder easily had he come out as a WR....And you can say whatever you want about him not being a great runner b/c he cant pound it in between the tackles, but to me thats nonsense. Smaller, less physical runners, have figured out how to be full-time starters and be effective at all the runs, just take someone like Warrick Dunn for example, sure he seems like a scatback but he could run in between the tackles and gets yards, it just takes some learning and Reggie has been working on that....And bottom line is that Reggie is one of the most explosive playmakers in this league, if not THE most explosive playmaker...Yes, hes gonna get a lot of hype and maybe get crowned as the next great player before hes earned it, but if you think about Reggie and everything hes accomplished and what he brings to the table, you have to expect that people are gonna jump to those kind of conclusions...

And then on the other side weve got the haters....Just mad cuz Reggie is getting hype cuz hes nice on the football field and mad that everyone else loves him....here you are hating on him, calling him overrated and trying to tear down his game. I say **** all that, give Reggie his due, maybe he gets overhyped because he is possibly the most exciting athlete in sports, does that mean you should hate on him? Its not like Reggie himself saying hes better than Larry Johnson....Obviously hes gotta prove himself before we can really say that he is the best out there, but how can you even think for a second that people arent gonna hype an electrifying player like Reggie up to be the next great player before he has the numbers to show it.
