Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing. Running a franchise is so sterile and bland now. Just like you said, all you do is play games and scout players, which seems pretty useless in itself because come draft day you get a scouting report on everybody.

I also enjoyed checking the newspaper articles and hearing fan reaction on the little radio show on 06. It made me feel like there was some response to the moves I would make, i.e., trading a veteran, raising concessions prices, winning streaks, etc. I was expecting to hear Adam Schefter's annoying little voice between games telling me how bad a coach/gm I am according to his sources! LOL!!

Franchise is pretty weak. We gotta come better.

Re: more in the franchise

right madden would be so good if they actually put way more work into the franchise mode and made it better super star to. They use to have news paper articles of upcoming games an how the last game went even had it where if u put someone on trade block make a story bout that.

Ea needs to step it up this year. it a really be nice they added the stuff from 06 and added top ten playsof the week

PS3 Re: more in the franchise

Something else I noticed missing from Franchise mode is my control over my teams finances, and being able to compare my team's status (as a franchise and as an owner) to the rest of the league.

In '06, during the offseason, I could check out other teams' stadium condition and owner ratings. Can't do that anymore. So now I have no motivation to buy any upgrades to my stadium because I can't tell if it's "State of the Art," "Excellent," or even "Good." As for Owner ratings and net income, I used to enjoy tweaking my ticket prices and parking rates so that I could make the most money possible. Why not make an Owner rating of excellent one of the Madden Goals in the whole Ring of Champions deal?

I also want players' personalities and attitudes to matter more. In previous versions, a player with rotten morale would show it on the field and on the Player Management screen. Now, player morale is meaningless. Also, I was hoping that I would have to deal with more off-the-field issues. I mean, Marvin Lewis just had to bench Chad Johnson for mouthing off; what if we had to deal with the same thing in the game? What if, while scouting or drafting, we'd consider shying away from a phenomenal talent who's a regular pain-in-the-@$$, team-chemistry killing, locker room cancer?

Just a thought...
