bible man the Sabbath was created during creation week on the 7th day and there were no jewish people then.

i know about the sabbath but i thought jewish people's was for some reason on saturday or w/e ... i heard that somewhere ... now that i think about it lolol ....

When God created the world there was no such thing as Saturdays, or Sundays, or any other day. Christians chose Sunday to honor the Sabbath, not because it was the Sabbath. Also, Old Testament law required that one do nothing but rest on the Sabbath. However, Jesus explained that the day of rest could not interfere with works that honored God. Example: The Bible says to submit to those who have authority over you. Therefore, if your job requires you to work on a Sunday, then you honor God by submitting to your boss. This also honors the Sabbath because you are doing as God would have you do.

Now for the commandments. All christians should try to obey the commandments because they provide a critical outline as to what type of behavior God wants from his disciples. However, and this is VERY important, obeying the commandments will NOT get you into heaven. The only way to heaven is through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This is done by admitting you are a sinner, asking forgiveness of those sins, asking Jesus to be Lord and Savior of your life and believing wholeheartedly in the death and resurrection of Jesus. This is all it takes to get into heaven. Jesus's sacrifice saved us from the law, but Jesus lived an example of following the law, as should we.

tnsteele95 great posts i agree with you on your second post. i think where you are wrong is saying christians chose to honor sunday instead of the saturday the true Sabbath. lets not forget guys God himself wrote the ten commandment. these are gods commandments not ours. i used to go on sunday then i asked the preacher where does it say in the bible to keep sunday holy he said it isnt in the bible that raise a red flag right away for me. satan always has a counterfit and i believe sunday is a counterfit for the Sabbath

as for the days of the week pagans named the days after the pagan gods sunday was named after the sun god because they worshipped the sun in the sky

ok you don't have to get a job that forces you to work on Sunday ....

And what are you saying then? that we can have the sabbath on saturday if we choose?

no that god said the 7th day is the Sabbath not the first day. i am saying we should worship god on the Sabbath saturday not sunday
