Madden Legends (Madden 2004-2009)

So me and Youngfella were talking and we basically compiled a list of the greatest Madden legends of all time. The definition of a madden legend is a player who is unproven or trash IRL, but an amazing player on the game. So here is our list of the top 5 madden legends from Madden 04-09. Most of these guys were on teams that were mostly used, so don't mention some dude on a bum team please. If you disagree or if we have forgot someone then please add your input. But I'm not gonna lie this list is pretty much dead on.

*** Another key component of being Madden Legend is having attributes that rate them as 82-83 or lower, but having the player play as if they are in the 92-99 range.

The committee is currently reviewing the idea that Michael Vick in 2004 was a Madden Legend, given that he was easily the best QB in the game despite never really doing anything to warrant that prior to 04's release.

Allen Rossum as a CB.. audibled down for the blitz that was 05 he should be somewhere on there he was dominant.

Wow Donnie I didn't even think of Rossum...from 04-07 he was a beast as a audibled down blitzing DB and a Kick Returner. We have to discuss this.

The committee has decided that Matt Jones will not be eligible for consideration of becoming a Madden Legend. This was mostly due to his inability to do what wide receivers do...catch the ball.

Calvin Johnson is the real deal everyone knew it coming out of college. Same can be said for McFadden and Jones, everyone knows they are good and are only gonna get better. Also, their Madden performance matches their OVR ratings. ***Thats another key component of being Madden Legend - most of the players listed above played as if they were 92-99 OVR, while their attributes had them in the 60-80 range.

I think thats the key reason why we won't put Vick on the list. While he absolutely did not deserve his stats, he played as good as his stats would make you think. He was routinely over 90 OVR, always had 97-99 THP, and until like 07 he was always in the mid-80's in THA. That may have to be a new rule - in order to qualify, one has to be rated 85 or under in the year in question, but still be absolutely dominant on the game despite the low rating.

Quinn Synpewski...GREAT CALL. He is without a doubt a Madden legend. The Committee has ruled that Quinn will replace Reggie Bush on the Madden 2007 list.

In 2007 Lelie was a mini-Moss...dude was 6'4, 97 speed, and 95 jump. And if I remember, his overall was like 79 or 81. He absolutely qualifies.

Wasn't Ashley Lelie rated like 83 or something? I know he was like the best wr on the game that year he did everything.

Also, to avoid any confusion the Committee is ranking Madden 04-07 Madden Legends on the PS2/Xbox versions of the game and Madden 08-09 is based on the Xbox 360/PS3 version of the game.
